"Didn't you hear what happened to Dario? Man, they found him dead in a burning car last night!" Sean said with a melancholic expression, his voice filled with sympathy for Dario and the Mullen family.
Not only him, but the entire class was in a bad mood today, their gloom amplified by the knowledge that Dario had been there with them just yesterday, and now he lay lifeless in a local cemetery.
Zac couldn't hide his satisfaction at hearing his 'friend.' He smiled honestly, unable to hide his emotions. "Is that so? I didn't know that. But I guess it was to be expected, right? That's what happens to those who follow a life of crime. I'm not surprised."
Sean stared at Zac in silence, feeling the boy's smile and comment were inappropriate. It was fine that Zac was not mourning Dario's death like the other students, but did he have to act so complacent?
