Nathan escorted Ava to the door, scrutinizing her from head to toe, worried that something might have gone wrong. After all, even the bodyguards he had arranged for her had shown up, which made him deeply concerned.
"Ava, are you okay?"
Ava shook her head. "I'm fine. Thankfully, they arrived in time; otherwise, I really wouldn't know what to do. You should get back to work. I've already caused enough of a stir today. I hope it doesn't affect you too much."
Nathan gently stroked Ava's hair and reassured her softly, "I'll take care of everything at the company, so don't worry. But I'm still curious—what exactly did Natalie do to make you this angry?"
Ava glanced at her watch, not wanting to take up more of Nathan's time. "Let's have lunch together, and I'll tell you everything then. Don't let this interfere with your work."
Nathan knew Ava didn't want to delay him, so he didn't insist.
