After hanging up the phone, Daniel still felt indignant. Alex always played the good guy, while Daniel had a ton of things unresolved. Yet, Alex had the time to worry about others!
Daniel reflected on how he had become so ill over Ava, yet Alex remained stubbornly undeterred. Returning to his office, Daniel's mood was visibly poor. It took several reminders from his secretary for him to regain his composure. Even though he eventually calmed down, the original budget had already increased.
