Zoe's hints, both overt and subtle, did not escape Ava. She was touched that Zoe was always thinking about her.
Seeing Zoe finally get anxious, Ava couldn't help but laugh. She affectionately ruffled Zoe's hair. "Alright, I know what you're thinking. Don't worry, I won't let Natalie take advantage."
Hearing this, Zoe finally relaxed a bit, but still gave Ava an annoyed look. "You ungrateful girl, I'm worried about you, and you're just laughing at me!"
"Alright, alright, my bad. After work, I'm planning to visit Natalie. Want to join?"
Zoe initially wanted to agree but then remembered Natalie's face and all she had done. The thought made her feel disgusted, like swallowing a fly. She quickly shook her head.
"No, no, I might end up yelling at her and messing things up for you."
