Natalie had been pretending to be drunk all night. Despite her high tolerance for alcohol, she easily showed a flushed face after a few glasses of strong red wine. Although she appeared very intoxicated, she was completely sober.
"Follow me," Nathan said.
Natalie followed Nathan, feeling secretly pleased. She thought Nathan was going to take her home. Obediently, she trailed behind him. Unexpectedly, Nathan didn't lead her to his car. Instead, he called Chris right in front of her.
"Do you have time now?" Nathan asked.
Chris was immediately anxious, fearing another task might be coming his way. "I do, but..."
"If you do, can you help me drive someone home? It won't be for nothing," Nathan assured.
"Sure, send me the location, and I'll be right there!" Chris agreed readily, thinking it wasn't a technical job and had benefits.
