When Ava heard Nathan say that, she panicked. Knowing Nathan's straightforward nature, she feared he might impulsively resign from his position as chairman of the Great Group. He had worked so hard to get there, and Ava quickly shook her head, looking serious, "No!"
"Why not? Aren't you upset that I work while you're stuck at home?"
Nathan didn't seem to grasp her point. Ava couldn't be direct about it either, as their relationship had only recently improved. She didn't want to risk another argument. After all, she wasn't an unreasonable or easily angered person.
"I'm not mad because you work!" Ava blurted out, her face turning red. Seeing this, Nathan's smile widened.
"So, it's because of Natalie?"
