Nathan's words left Natalie feeling a chill down her spine. Had he seen through her intentions? Forcing herself to speak in a cold, hard voice, she abandoned her previous gentle and submissive tone.
"Mr. Ford, the only reason I'm telling you this is for grandmother's sake. Otherwise, I wouldn't want to get involved in your matters with Miss Sterling at all!"
Nathan chuckled lightly at her words. "That sounds much better. Alright, I understand your point. Leave this matter to me."
With that, he hung up. Natalie, left staring at her phone, was stunned. Did Nathan just… laugh?
He actually laughed at her. Although Natalie couldn't see him, she could imagine Nathan's smiling face in her mind. Her emotions were like a roller coaster, soaring and plummeting. And he even praised her!
