"No, it's the daughter of an old friend, named Natalie..." Evelyn proceeded to explain Natalie's situation to Nathan, embellishing the story to ensure he would agree by emphasizing how tragic Natalie's circumstances were.
"old Mrs. Perez was my best friend when I was young. Though we lost touch when she went abroad, the bond remained. Now, her most beloved granddaughter is in such a state, how can I not help? Nathan, I've never asked you for much, just this once, will you?"
