Alex's voice was icy, causing his father to feel a bit uneasy. However, the thought of Charles being beaten up so badly made him heartbroken, and he couldn't care about anything else.
"Alex, do you really have to be so heartless and refuse to help?"
"He ended up like this, not because of me. Why should I clean up his mess? Let me tell you, I'm not marrying another woman to save Charles. There's no room for negotiation. You better sort this out yourselves."
"Alex! Are you really going to disobey your father?!"
"Think whatever you want."
With that, Alex hung up the phone and blocked the number, determined not to deal with Charles's issues.
