Chapter 234 - Difficulties

Hearing Alex's words, Ava's hands paused slightly. She took a deep breath and said, "Yes."

 

Alex's expression darkened as he walked up to Ava, guilt etched on his face. "Ava, I was wrong. I'm sorry."

 

Seeing Alex like this only fueled Ava's anger. She threw down what she was holding and turned to face him, her face cold. "You say you were wrong, but do you even know what you did wrong?"

 

"I shouldn't have let Nathan in without your permission," Alex said, his amber eyes filled with remorse, making Ava's heart ache and her tone soften involuntarily.

 

"Alex, I'm not blaming you. What frustrates me is why you never consider yourself. You always think of me first, but you end up neglecting your own needs. I appreciate your kindness, but seeing you like this makes me feel terrible."

 

Alex's eyes flickered slightly. "Does my way of doing things make you feel burdened?"
