Emily covered her face with her hands, tears streaming down as she sobbed, "Patrick, are you trying to kick me out?"
Patrick looked exasperated. If it weren't for this girl's quick wit and the fact that her temper strangely suited his taste, he would never have given in to her pitiful act and brought her home in a moment of weakness.
"Emily, you already tried that trick this morning."
Emily froze for a moment, then reverted to her usual demeanor, covering her mouth with a shy smile. "Oh, you remember everything so well."
With an expressionless face, Patrick grabbed Emily by her pigtails and started dragging her upstairs. "Stop pretending. After today, you're out of my house."
"Ouch, Patrick, let go! If you don't, don't blame me for what I'll do."
Patrick released his grip, pressing down on Emily's head, finding her flailing limbs amusing. "Do you think I'm scared of you?"
