"So, what exactly happened before?" Nathan's gaze was dark and piercing as he stared at Alex. He knew Ava wasn't the type to easily change her affections, especially considering how she had still shown signs of liking him back at the hospital.
Alex let out a small, bitter laugh, leaning on his crutch. "Look at me now. Do you see any changes?"
Only then did Nathan notice the crutch Alex was leaning on. His eyes dropped to Alex's slightly baggy pant leg, and he exclaimed in disbelief, "Your leg…"
Struggling a bit, Alex sat down with his crutch, his frame thin but his tone indifferent. "Now that you know the person beside you is an imposter, you should also be aware of who orchestrated all of this."
Nathan's face turned grim. Could Alex's situation also be her doing?
