Ava sniffed and lowered her head, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Sorry about earlier. I couldn't control myself."
Alex smiled gently, his features bathed in a soft light. "There's no need for apologies between us. I should be the one thanking you for taking care of me all these days."
Ava knew Alex meant no harm, but the memories of recent events still brought an involuntary sadness to her heart.
After a moment of silence, she decided it was time to make up her mind. "Alex, do your words from before still hold true?"
Alex was taken aback by Ava's question. Seeing her determined expression, he felt his heart begin to race. Could she mean she wanted to be with him?
Ava, seeing Alex's shocked expression, stepped closer and took his hand, a gentle yet commanding smile on her face. "You're smart. You should understand what I mean. So, do you still want to be with me?"
