"Did you find something in your investigation?"
Chris shook his head. "Not exactly. But I remember you telling me that Ms. Sterling had twisted her ankle and couldn't go to the hospital herself. However, I saw her at the hospital that day. I thought I might have misheard, and I wanted to tell you, but then I got interrupted by a phone call..."
"What did you say? You saw Ava at the hospital?" Nathan's usually composed demeanor shattered. He grabbed Chris's arm, his expression tense.
"Yes, that's right." Chris was startled by Nathan's reaction.
"Tell me everything that happened at the hospital that day." Nathan took a deep breath, trying to calm down. After hearing Chris's account, Nathan was now certain that the person at the Ford's house was an imposter.
He recalled Chloe mentioning how Ryan cried every time the fake Ava held him, but today, he stopped crying as soon as Ava held him.
