Receiving Alex's warning, Daniel Martinez shrugged innocently. Throughout the walk, Ava seemed noticeably distracted, prompting Alex to suggest they head back early out of concern for her.
Once they returned, Alex was about to comfort Ava when the doctor came in, instructing him to go for a check-up. Alex barely had time to say anything before he was whisked away.
Now, only Daniel Martinez and Ava were left in the room. With Alex gone, Daniel Martinez dropped his facade.
"Ava, you must be feeling really down right now. Just two months, and your child's father already has a new love."
Ava kept her head down, saying nothing, but the sadness emanating from her was palpable. Daniel Martinez, however, was unmoved by her emotions. Compared to her, Alex had suffered more. He continued, "It seems you're not as important to him as you thought. Maybe it's time to reconsider your options."
