Since learning this news, Alex was in a daze, unsure how to react.
"So, this is your chance. If you're willing, I can help you, Alex. This might be your last opportunity!"
Daniel Martinez didn't push Alex any further. Some things he could only hint at; the rest Alex had to figure out himself. Daniel waited patiently, observing Alex in silence.
After a while, Ava returned with a large takeout box, sensing the tense atmosphere in the room. She glanced curiously at Daniel, wondering if the two had been arguing.
"I've got the food. It looks like there's plenty. Why don't we eat together?"
Ava's suggestion was merely a polite gesture to break the ice. Unexpectedly, the usually uncooperative Daniel readily agreed, leaving Ava stunned.
