Hannah Davis asked a few soft questions, and Ava answered almost without thinking, completely oblivious to the people around her. Zoe listened in shock, glancing at Ava, while Alex's expression turned complicated.
Hannah got the answers she needed and snapped her fingers near Ava's ear, causing her to suddenly wake up.
"What... what just happened?" Ava had no memory of what had transpired, but her intuition told her something significant had occurred.
"I just asked you a few simple questions, Miss Sterling. If you have time, I'd like to do a comprehensive check-up on you another day," Hannah said, her smile calm and gentle.
Zoe, under Alex's direction, quickly returned to normal. Though puzzled, she hid her curiosity to avoid worrying Ava.
