Seeing Ava's comment, Alex's dissatisfaction with Nathan grew. Knowing well how poorly Diana treated Ava, Nathan chose this moment to go on a business trip.
Nathan didn't care about Ava at all! Despite his calm and gentle demeanor, Alex's eyes flashed with a hidden storm.
"Alright, don't feel embarrassed. You took care of me when I was in trouble, so it's only fair I return the favor now."
Alex tucked the blanket around Ava, his tone gentle yet firm.
"Don't mention this to Zoe, or she'll worry. It's not a serious illness anyway. The doctor said you just need a few days of observation before you can be discharged. I'll take care of you during this time."
Ava wanted to refuse but couldn't find a valid reason. Before she could say anything, Alex had already left the room.
