Ava grimaced as she took the hot water from Nathan.
"Do you know that the last thing girls want to hear is men telling them to drink more hot water?" she said with a pained expression.
Nathan paused, a bit taken aback, and responded jokingly, "Then maybe try... boiling water?"
Ava gave Nathan a wry smile that hinted at her impending doom. Nathan chuckled and playfully patted Ava's head before heading upstairs to fetch some stomach medicine. Meanwhile, Ava propped herself up and sipped the hot water Nathan had handed her.
The pain in her lower abdomen persisted, and Ava regretted indulging her appetite that morning. Soon after, a familiar warm flow began, and Ava stiffened suddenly.
She calculated the time and realized that it indeed was the time for her menstrual visit. How could she have forgotten? Frustrated with herself, Ava was about to stand when Nathan returned.
