"Oh, so what does that have to do with me?" Ava asked indifferently.
Zoe looked at Ava with frustration, as if lamenting her lack of understanding.
"Don't you see? He's ditched his old flame, which definitely means there's a new one on the horizon. And from my years of experience, I'd bet you're the new flame!" Zoe exclaimed.
Ava rolled her eyes dramatically in response.
"Give me a break, Zoe. I've been exhausted these past few days and I was finally looking forward to some rest. Don't start stirring up trouble now. Let's just drop it; what others do is their business, we just need to mind our own."
Watching Ava maintain her stance of self-preservation, Zoe sighed deeply.
"It's like the emperor isn't in a hurry but his eunuch is," Zoe muttered under her breath, sounding unfairly treated by the world.
