"I didn't do anything wrong, Mr. Ford. Could there be some misunderstanding?" Kevin Lewis fumed silently as Nathan publicly undermined him in front of their colleagues. The embarrassment ignited his temper, yet he felt powerless to express his anger.
"A misunderstanding?" Nathan sneered coldly.
"Do I need to lay the evidence right in front of you before you admit it? Kevin Lewis, I never realized you had the audacity to do such a thing. Or perhaps, you've done this before and I am only now catching on."
Nathan's words caused Kevin Lewis to break out in a cold sweat. He hated appearing so subservient, but facing Nathan, who was younger, always made him tremble uncontrollably.
"Mr. Ford, I've been wronged! Since joining the company, I've always been diligent and honest. How could I ever exploit my position for personal gain?"
