"Mom, we have our own plans regarding that..." Nathan began, trying to deflect the conversation.
"I don't want to hear from you; I want Ava to answer," Diana cut in, clearly sensing Nathan's protective stance towards Ava.
"Ava, tell me, when are you planning to have children?" Diana pressed.
"We are not prepared for that yet," Ava responded, lifting her head with a composed demeanor. Since Diana was being so aggressive, Ava felt no need to continue appeasing her.
Diana, having let previous issues slide because Nathan didn't mind them, found no reason to argue about them anymore. However, the mention of not having children immediately alarmed her. "Why not?"
Hearing Ava's response, Nathan knew trouble was brewing. His mother was very keen on having grandchildren.
