Seeing Ava's response, Diana's mood slightly improved, but she quickly resumed her high-handed attitude. "Don't you even have a maid at home to offer some tea or water? I'm quite thirsty, make me a cup of tea," she commanded, treating Ava more like a servant than a daughter-in-law.
Ava sighed deeply but said nothing, turning to prepare the tea for Diana.
After serving the tea to Diana, Ava was thinking of an excuse to leave when Nathan appeared seemingly out of nowhere, gently squeezing Diana's shoulder. "Mom, I've prepared the guest room for you. You must be tired today; tomorrow I'll take you out for something delicious," he offered warmly.
Diana patted Nathan's shoulder with a smile. "I know you're filial, but remember, you're the head of the family," she remarked, her gaze meaningfully shifting towards Ava.
