"Why are you dining with him? You're not spending time with me..." Iris's voice quivered with hurt upon hearing Nathan's plans.
"I've got to go if there's nothing else," Nathan responded, dismissively ignoring Iris's distress.
"Are you free tomorrow? Maybe we could have a meal together?" Iris's anxiety was rising with Nathan's increasingly ambiguous attitude towards Ava, but she knew that making a scene would only push him further away.
"We'll see," Nathan replied curtly, then ended the call.
