"Oh dear... Look at you, anyone would think I did something to you last night! Go back to sleep, I'm off to work."
Ava Sterling strutted over to him, gently patting his shoulder before swiftly withdrawing her hand.
She arched an eyebrow at him: "Nathan Ford, did I ever tell you how adorable you are?"
"Ava Sterling!"
Having said that, Ava made way, pointing towards her bedroom.
"It seems you're quite interested in my bedroom. Well, I'll graciously offer it to you; go get some sleep."
Seeing her so magnanimously offering, Nathan Ford clenched his teeth.
"It's not your bedroom that interests me—it's you!"
"That won't do! I have to work, you know. A married woman, providing for the family, I'm really busy and have no time to play around here!"
Nathan Ford, standing before this woman, felt utterly powerless.
Suddenly, he stepped forward, pinning Ava Sterling against the corner of the wall.
One hand tightly encircled her waist: "It seems I really do need to heed my parents' advice. We have a long way to go, the revolution is not yet accomplished. Let's keep fighting together!"
"No... let's not..." Ava Sterling immediately shook her head, unable to meet his gaze.
"How can we not? Without you, I can't do all this alone."
Nathan Ford leaned closer, his lips grazing her nose tip. Ava Sterling felt a burning sensation on her nose tip, her long eyelashes fluttering.
Nathan Ford, stirred by her, felt his heartbeat quicken. Just as he was about to lose control, Ava Sterling suddenly spoke, "I don't like doing this during the day!"
"Oh?" Nathan Ford was instantly brought back to his senses.
Ava Sterling mustered all her strength and pushed him away: "I still have to go to work. I'm leaving first."
Nathan Ford could only watch her as she frantically grabbed the keys from the table and ran out.
"This woman!" Nathan Ford chuckled softly, a slight smile curling his lips as he stepped towards the door, watching Ava Sterling's retreating figure.
"Nathan Ford!" Ava Sterling exclaimed as she settled into her car, suddenly rolling down the window. "If you want to stay here, that's fine. I'll move out."
Ignoring his gritted teeth, Ava Sterling drove away. Nathan Ford watched her departing car, then with a loud bang, kicked open the door and strode back inside.
He headed straight for Ava Sterling's room, where he had left all his clothes in the bathroom the night before. Now, draped only in a towel, he forcefully kicked open the bathroom door and started putting on his clothes.
Observing the neatly made bed and the room's feminine aura, he curiously surveyed every corner. Before leaving, he made a call, and soon a locksmith arrived at the house.
Nathan Ford, now fully dressed, stood at the entrance waiting for the locksmith.
"Change the lock on that bedroom," he said, one hand in his pocket as he turned to point at the bedroom Ava Sterling had occupied.
The locksmith, who had only seen Nathan Ford on TV, was momentarily startled.
"Ahem..." Nathan Ford coughed softly, fist to his mouth, snapping the locksmith back to reality. The locksmith, grabbing his tools, headed to the room.
Nathan glanced at his wristwatch, watching the locksmith work efficiently to remove the old lock.
"Make sure to give me a spare key," he requested.
Upon hearing this, the locksmith immediately stood up, wiped his hands, and from his bag, handed Nathan a brand new key.
Nathan Ford looked down at the key in his hand, murmuring to himself, "Let's see if you can keep me out tonight."
