By 10 PM, Alex still hadn't called Daniel. Daniel was considering whether he should call Alex, but then he thought, why should he be the one to call back? After all, Alex was the one who asked for help. If he called back, wouldn't it seem like he was eager to help Alex... or rather, Ava?
Daniel wasn't interested in Ava at all; if it weren't for Alex, he wouldn't even glance at a woman like her. She was so rigid and boring. Daniel couldn't understand what Alex saw in her. The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. It was bedtime, but he couldn't sleep.
Feeling indignant, Daniel thought Alex must already be asleep. He was losing sleep over Alex's matter, yet Alex hadn't even bothered to call him.
He threw off his blanket, thinking only of Alex. No, he had to go see him! Why should he be unable to sleep while Alex could?
