Chapter 22 - Details and Ghostblade

"Arthur Blade."

The atmosphere in the room immediately grew tense as a frown appeared upon Alice's face and Nolan's body twitched as if he didn't hear what Omar had just said. But no matter their disapprovals or anything, if it was in the power of the Blades to fulfill their request then they must do so without a moments hesitation and no questions asked. Reluctantly Nolan nodded, and then asked for confirmation.

"Do you really want to use your Sacra for this purpose?"

It was less of a confirmation question and more of a question to remind him that his Sacra would be gone if chose to accept. and so he should maybe change the person or request something else.

Another reason they had to accept the request of Omar was that the Ravencrests and Blades were very close in the past that even when they were blamed, the Blades chose to stand by the Ravencrests, which meant basically against the Imperius, this became another reason for their discrimination and the public started calling them "Beasts" because of their own rules and never following the order of Imperius if they didn't want to.

Even though the Imperius could retaliate against the Blades and demote them, they feared Christopher too much. The man was the strongest Zenith in the whole of Caelum except Omar, who wasn't aligned with the Imperius so for them basically Christopher was their strongest weapon.

But not Christopher, even if he coupled with the rest of the Zeniths would be able to kill Omar. After all, he was the first and only human in the world to obtain affinity with a supreme element. And not only one supreme element, but two of them couple with a normal element as well! The man was the first person to have three affinities in the world!

Moreover, his affinities with Time and Space were the highest level of affinities yet with both being at [Transcendent] level! The man could manipulate both elements with an unparalleled mastery and creativeness. Of course, Arthur was the second human with a supreme element but he hadn't manifested it yet due to which the Imperius didn't know of him.

Moving back to the present scene, Omar nodded at Nolan's question and sensing his and Alice's worry reassured them.

"Don't worry about your son's life, I know he isn't old enough for a mission due to which in exchange for this, I will personally guarantee his survival and once he admissions in CRATE (Cross Regional Academy for Training and Education) I will take him in as my disciple."

Nolan's eyes widened at his words and he locked eyes with Alice. Omar personally guaranteeing Arthur's safety would have already made them relieved about his safety, but even if he didn't say anything they would have to fulfills his demands.

But not only would Arthur be safe if something were to happen but he would be the disciple of Omar once he joined CRATE! It was to be noted that although they hated to admit it, Omar's mastery over the Darkness element was unparalleled, on par with Christopher and Edward Blackheart, the former Patriarch of Blackheart family.

Now that Arthur thought about it, he recalled hearing that Omar was the principal of CRATE due to his immense strength and mastery over elements, not that they could force him but he had personally wished to be the principal for untold reasons.

CRATE (Cross Regional Academy for Training and Education) was the academy collectively established by the four races after the war in hopes of establishing a stronger bond and nurturing the future generations for the upcoming war in the future with the Netherfiends. It situated on the fifth continent, a continent in the middle of all the 4 continents, a continent although small but solely for the whole of the academy, Atlantis.

Every youth would enroll in the academy after turning to age 17 and then study and train for three year before passing out.

The continent was actually quite a bigger continent in the past, but due to a lot of monster gates opening in the east part of the continent, the two continents were separated from each other, becoming Atlantis and Abyssia. The continent Abyssia was a land filled with monsters and no sane life lived there.

After the formation of CRATE on Atlantis, it was agreed upon by the other races that Abyssia would be a neutral territory and it belonged to none. Any race could go and kill there as they wished. Even if all the monsters were to be killed, then Abyssia would still be a neutral territory.

No race argued when Omar was nominated for the position of the principal because he was just that strong and no race had any warrior as strong as him. Hell, the only reason the Imperius valued and didn't hunt Omar was because the races only accepted humanity as a part of the coalition because of Omar. The Elves were left in awe of his mana control and spacial affinity whereas the Dwarves were in awe and respected his strength.

So the chance to become Omar's disciple was a once in a lifetime offer that neither Arthur nor his parents wanted him to lose. So Nolan nodded and continued with the conversation.

"We would gladly accept your offer. Now, who is the target of the assassination?"

Omar didn't mind the topic change and also moved on to business.

"The target's name is Rick Stormheart, he is the finance manager of the Stormhearts"

For a moment, Nolan's eyebrow seemed to arch in surprise before quickly returning to normal.

"The Stormhearts huh.... got it, and any specific methods for the assassination?"

Omar shook his head before confirming his denial.

"None."

Nolan nodded again, before asking another question.

"Do you want the assassin to take anything from the body or any message to leave?"

Omar shook his head again.

"None."

"Right that completes the assassination details and now finally one last question, when do you want the assassination to happen?"

Without a moment's hesitation, Omar answered as if he already decided before coming here,

"Tomorrow."

Nolan's eyebrows shot up with surprise at the sudden request for the assassination tomorrow but he didn't ask anything. After all, their task was to perform the assassination not ask the questions about it. Nolan then turned his face towards Arthur.

"Okay then and for the final question in the form, which is for the assassin and not for the client, what is going to be your codename son?"

At this questions, a barrage of memories surfaced in Arthur's mind and started rushing through it. This question was the same question that had been asked to him on his first job, and the answer to the question was a name that would be known in the years to come. The name was an enigma in the world, just like Omar, it was forbidden to speak the name alone or with any other person because of the fear that the person could be his next target.

The name that had been the cause of terror everywhere it was spoken. From the first question of the name, to accomplishing his missions and to his last breath, Arthur - no, Ray Vixen had been accompanied by a single codename.

"Ghostblade," Arthur answered without a moments thought or hesitation.

This was the name that took away all light and hope, leaving only abyssal darkness behind.

"A quick thinker, aren't you?" Alice chuckled as she was surprised by Arthur's quick answer.

Nolan nodded with a smile and then turned towards Omar,

"Now everything has been done, the date for the assassination is a little hard but it can be done."

Omar nodded and stood up to leave and Arthur and his parents also stood up along with him. Nolan shaked hands with him and then Omar turned towards Arthur, who again felt that strange feeling in his chest. Like everything he had to hide was bare in front of his eyes.

"I will take my leave now, and Arthur or should I say Ghostblade, I wish you luck in your mission and await your success and your coming in to CRATE with patience."

Arthur nodded and then answered Omar,

"I will try the best I can."

Omar nodded and then turned to leave before saying his goodbyes with his parents, who spoke the customary departing words to him

"May the spirits bless the Ravencrests."

Omar nodded and answered with the right reply to the greeting.

"May they bless you as well."

Then his parents and Arthur went along with him to the entrance of the manor before finally departing with him as started to walk away.

Arthur and his parents looked at his figure who started walking but suddenly stopped by the gate as if he remembered something, then he softly turned his head and spoke in a quiet voice but which was loud enough to be heard by his parents,

"Oh yes, I forgot. I wish my heartiest congratulations to Arthur for accomplishing such a world shattering feat by awakening at the age of 3."

Omar left the Blade manor and started walking the stone paved road to Masglow amidst the forest trees. After gaining quite a considerable distance, he looked back at the manor, which still stood tall among the trees. He mumbled in quiet whisper,

"The wheels have spun and the game has begun. What will be your next move be, I wonder?"

Then, he looked forward and started to walk again towards his destination.
