"Yes, it's a Thunderbird" Instructor Eldora said as she looked at the gleaming eyes of hope in the group of 20 Symphonists that she would be leading into the Thunderbird taming mission. It was their first mission, so they had lots of anticipation. With the involvement of Instructor Eldora, the mission was rated medium, which surprised the students after reading the details of the mission. It was just a baby beast; However, it wasn't considered an easy mission.
"The Beast hatched in Monster High. We are still uncertain how the egg got there, but we need to act fast before it causes serious havoc" Instructor Eldora sighed "Thunderbirds are formidable, the sooner the better, y'all get ready, we will be moving tomorrow morning"
Immediately Instructor Eldora left the students, they started discussing amongst themselves, thrilled by the thought of seeing a live baby Thunderbird, they couldn't wait for the day to be over.
"Hello Dad, I'll be going for my first mission tomorrow morning," As King Bukai read the message his son sent him, he quickly gave him a call.
"Malakai, my son how are you doing?"
"I'm fine Dad"
"What are the specifics of this mission you're going for, should I send some of our guards to go with you?"
"No need for that Dad" Malakai chuckled, "It's not a personal mission, the entire freshmen symphony class will be going for the mission. Besides, we already have instructor Eldora with us"
"Alright, if you say so" King Bukai sighed "What's the mission about?"
"It's to tame a baby beast, a Thunderbird to be specific," Malakai said
"Oh…Alright then, go show that beast who is in charge" King Bukai ended the call
"Okay, dad…Hello…? Oh, it seems he ended the call already" Malakai jumped into his bed, and stared at the stars through his window, eagerly waiting for the next day, he slept with a smile on his face.
…
The next morning, all the freshmen symphonists gathered in an open hall in the department waiting for Instructor Eldora to step in. And eventually, when she stepped in, they all bowed as a show of respect.
"Okay students, let's get ourselves together, we are leaving"
Instructor Eldora and the students boarded a bus from the university and headed towards Northeast Forest where Monster High was built.
Monster High was a breeding ground for potential Monster Slayers, it was a school mainly for the Royal Families. 80% of their students were admitted into Monster Slayer University each year, due to their rigorous training method. The journey from Monster Slayer University to Monster High took over 3 hours, and as they approached, the trees grew denser.
The Northeast Forest has been ridden of all beasts and monsters, but it remained a forest with tall trees and, a serene and airy environment. Echoes of the Thunderbird could be heard as they got closer to the school.
"That doesn't sound right," Instructor Eldora said, sounding worried "The message did say it was a baby beast, but that roar…"
The roaring bird sent cold shivers down Instructor Eldora as she feared the beast must have grown within the hours they wasted hence making the mission even more difficult for the freshmen.
"Please we may need to reform, considering the sounds that are coming from the Thunderbird, my instinct tells me that it is no longer a baby" Immediately Instructor Eldora said those last words; the students gasped in terror. A mature thunderbird? They couldn't believe it; How fast the thunderbird had grown in less than 48 hours, fearing that the danger of the mission would be unbelievably high right now.
10 minutes later, upon arriving at Monster High, they stood dumbfounded, looking at the vandalized structure.
"Oh, our beast must have fed on the metals to facilitate its growth. No wonder it grew so fast" Instructor Eldora concluded as she looked at the Vandalized structure and devised a means to tame the beast.
'Grrrrrrrr'
The beast growled angrily as it stepped out of the building, and looked at the humans who were about its height standing in front of its new territory.
Usually when Thunderbirds are born, they make their birthplace their territory and start their own kingdom there. So seeing other creatures in their territory will usually anger them because they do not like sharing territories with other beasts.
The beast didn't waste any time, but screamed loudly, changing the atmosphere, and causing a serious thunderstorm. Instructor Eldora quickly urged the students to take cover so they could channel their melodies toward the Thunderbird and get it to submit.
As they ran to take cover, the beast started shaking its blade-like wings, sending them scatteredly to the directions the humans ran into, the wings moved at lightning speed creating sharp cuts in any student it touched. Seeing that the humans had fully taken cover, it ran towards them causing the ground to quake as it moved.
"If this continues, we won't be able to attack its mind and tame it," Instructor Eldora thought then sent a telepathic message to all her students "We need to retrieve, we can't handle the current state of the Thunderbird, we'll return with other warriors."
The students were very disappointed when they heard Instructor Eldora's words, they hesitated to leave. Just then a flying human fired arrows at the thunderbird pinning it to the ground, unable to move. The human came closer and used a metal-like rope to tie the beast. He did all these without touching the rope or the beast. The students marveled as they saw the human easily tackle the beast.
"He is a controller," One of them said from behind a rock.
"Come out now, and finish up with taming this beast," The flying human said as he landed on the ground.
Instructor Eldora ordered the students to come out and immediately told them to form a circle around the beast. They held their hands tightly and together let out beautiful melodies piercing deep into the Thunderbird's mind, making it vibrate violently.
"Do not break the chain," Instructor Eldora shouted as the ground beneath them rumbled. The students gripped each other tightly and steadily directed their sounds toward the beast. After some time, the beast began to succumb, a surge of powerful energies rushed into the beast, making it let out a low growling sound, and quit resisting the energies that were being sent to his mind, changing its brain network. Thirty minutes later, the beast was fully tamed and untied.
The students went close to the beast and touched it, they began rubbing the beast, and soon after it got fond of them, and started playing with them.
"Thanks for the head start mister" Instructor Eldora extended a handshake to the controller who assisted them in taming the beast.
"Don't sweat it" He said.
"Okay, at least can I know your name?" Instructor Eldora smirked and lightly stroked her hair from behind.
"Raphael, and you?"
"My bad, I'm Eldora" She chuckled
"Alright then, we'll see some other time, I have to be on my way" In the blink of an eye, Raphael flew into the air, leaving the sight of the group of Symphonists he had earlier helped, they all looked at him and waved as he left.
After Raphael left, Instructor Eldora led the students to the bus, while she hopped on the thunderbird, and used it as a ride back to the University.
At the university gate, all students of Monster Slayer University gathered to welcome Instructor Eldora and the group of Symphonists who had gone to tame this baby beast. As the beast approached, flapping its wings, the students struggled to maintain balance. It was like the flapping of the wings was a little tornado, throwing objects off the way as it got to the university gate.
"Wow I thought it was a baby beast"
"Is this what a baby thunderbird looks like?"
"Majestic"
…
The students stood by the gate and admired the approaching thunderbird. As it flew past them, they all began to clap, cheering the Symphonists for completing the mission.
The beast was kept in the school museum, and students were allowed to go in to take a close look at the beast. As soon as Dan heard of the arrival of the thunderbird in the museum, he quickly bought a ticket to go and see the beast for himself.
Stepping into the museum, Dan's eyes instantly met with the beautiful blue eyes of the baby beast, he walked closer to the beast and extended his hands to touch the glass structure used to keep the beast from direct contact with the students.
The beast let out a low growl and violently forced himself into Dan's mind. "You're like me," It said "A beast."
