The next morning, Mr.Nakayama was heading to Sawa high before any of the students could arrive. He walked around the school. His eyes traveling with the signals of his brain pointing to all points of interest.
"Nori Kibe, while my evidence on you is lofty at best. My gut feeling never has mislead me.
...Unfortunately, the only thing I have to connect you is a robotic voice. Thats the only connection. Multiple suspects, multiple times have they spoken of the machine, multiple times have they encountered the white rabbit.
Robert Greene's book of the 48 laws of power, speaks of many laws. He spoke of formlessness, the ultimate adaptability is to be without form and without edges, that to succeed at anything and all things. You must be capable of fitting into them and making yourself the interior. Like moving into a home and getting your old contents to fit into a new one.
Is that what you did Kibe?
Is that what you did by coming here to Japan? You were formless and fit in without any worry, thats cause your father Mr.Nori was Japanese while your mother is French.
Its perfect." Mr.Nakayama said as he walked up the stairs of the school, walking past janitors and other teachers getting ready for the the day. As he walked around his vision would see remembrances of students passing through and going down the halls. He'd then look down the hall of the building and see the headmaster's office.
He was putting his folders and papers on his desk. He was a older man. A short white beard, small glasses and wearing a plain black suit. Mr.Nakayama knocked on his open door.
"Oh, come in. Hello there Mr.Nakayama." said the headmaster, Mr.Nakayama nodded as he walked in. His eyes explored the room. The man had a PHD in education and even teaching. However his eyes stopped on one of his majors, neural science.
...He didn't stop his movement though, Mr.Nakayama had gotten into the habit of being able to photographically remember a room, its contents and everything and one in it just by glancing at them. So he never did just stand still needing minutes to hours to take it all in, it was simply done in mere seconds. This included when he read or found mew information.
"Good to see you, Shunsuke Uchida." Mr.Nakayama said as he sat down in a chair in front of his desk, he took off his coat and set it behind him. It was raining outside, the cold air could be felt from the entrance of the school. All the way to the office room they were at. Mr.Uchida walked over and sat down in front of him.
"What can I help you with detective?" Mr.Uchida asked
"I wanted to talk to you about some recent events that have happened here. I was hoping you'd answer some questions." Mr.Nakayama said, Mr.Uchida looked at him and nodded.
"Alright then, what would you like to know?" Mr.Uchida asked
"Why wasn't security here the day of the poisoning of the students? Where were they?" Mr.Nakayama asked
"...After an anonymous tip came through, we needed to get rid of security sir." Mr.Uchida said
"Why haven't they been replaced since then? Where are the new ones?" Mr.Nakayama asked
"..."
"Why have you refused to come to the police about this? Why did you not contact anyone when your cameras came up being hacked?
I'll ask again. Why did you not get new security?" Mr.Nakayama asked as he stood up and looked down at Mr.Uchida who had his shaking hands on his legs.
"I think...I think its time I showed you something." Mr.Uchida said as he got up and walked to his desk. Mr.Nakayama looked at him, he could see his normal aura begin to turn to a tainted black. He could see his body and mind begin to shift, like as if he was being switched into a whole different person. Mr.Uchida grabbed something from a drawer. He then got out an envelop and walked over to Mr.Nakayama. He took a step back and looked at it.
"He gave this to me when you came here the first day. He said to give it to you when...when he felt like you might need it." Said Mr.Uchida as he handed him the envelope. Mr.Nakayama grabbed it and then opened it.
"Dear Mr.Nakayama, its come to my attention that my actions have made us begin a dance.
A dance so dangerous that I don't think either of us may finish the steps required to complete our suarez." Read the letter.
"Hes planned this all out? From the first day?
Well at least it rules out the other suspensions, hes definitely a student." Mr.Nakayama thought, he then kept reading the letter.
"The coming events have shown to be..
Unpredictable and unreadable in terms of the damages and lives that may be at stake here. I'd like to avoid further death if necessary. Which is why I want to settle on an agreement." Read the letter, Mr.Nakayama looked up to Mr.Uchida who was sitting down in his chair in a cold sweat. His intrusive thoughts could be seen to be taking over, like bees to honey. All the awful thoughts were clouding his mind.
However as he read, Mr.Nakayama began to understand.
"You play my game and I promise to cease these attacks." Said the letter.
"...Its not him." Mr.Nakayama said as he threw the note down.
"What?" Mr.Uchida asked confused
"In the past few days we've had two masterminds running around. One of them is the White rabbit, from the wonderland case." Mr.Nakayama said
"Wonderland?" Mr.Uchida said a bit...weirded out.
"I didn't pick the name.
...The second one is the trickster or as some call him, the king.
The trickster has always been shown to be a man of games, though he's never hurt anyone directly. Not yet anyway.
He also has a hate for the white rabbit. The only thing I know right now. Is that the trickster just outted himself for being a student. Not to mention, that sounds nothing like the white rabbit.
Which means, that evidence for him being a student just got flushed." Mr.Nakayama said , Mr.Uchida began to look around breathing heavily. As Mr.Nakayama kept brainstorming and thinking Mr.Uchida went to his window and opened it.
"The trickster knew all of this, he knew about my arrival here. Which means he must also know about the HP hotel. He knew about the dragon gang.
He knows the machine, he knows he's here. That's why he's here, he targeted the school before, at the poisoning and now with this something month old letter. Looks like 3 or 4 months old.
...I'm getting closer, I can almost feel icy cold. The soul of the machine." Mr.Nakayama said as he turned.
"Mr.Uchida I need to see-" thats when he'd see Mr.Uchida getting ready to leap from his window.
"NOOO!" Mr.Nakyama shouted as he ran to the window and grabbed Mr.Uchida, the two wrestled at the window.
"NO! YOU DON'T KNOW WHO THE HELL YOUR MESSING WITH!?" Mr.Uchida screamed as Mr.Nakyama then pulled him from the window and pinned him onto the desk.
"YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT! ANYTHING YOU SAY OR DO WILL BE HELD AGI-" thats when Mr.Uchida would struggle some more. As he did Mr.Nakyama then saw his computer.
His email was open and he saw that he had many selected messages. He then grabbed Mr.Uchida by the back of the head.
"Deleting something? You were working for the trickster the whole time! That's why there's no new security or any damn good camera feeds here! They're all wired and tapped!
The white rabbit arrived at this school, the trickster followed shortly after. He wouldn't make his move until many years later, he wanted to be sure it was him. Because he had spent all of the past years looking for him. This chance to beat him. I don't know your association with the White rabbit, but I can tell you this. Your going to have a nice comfy place. Right next to Mr.Otsuka, oh no, where are my manners.
The mad hatter." Mr.Nakayama said as he lifted up Mr.Uchida and began to walk with towards the door, however in that moment Mr.Nakyama would get a phone call and in that split second Mr.Uchida would grab Mr.Nakayama's gun and run back to his desk pointing it at himself.
"HEY! Don't do this! A lot of people are gonna die by him trying to impress some mystery crush or whatever.
You need to WAKE UP! There is no outcome in this where you get away from this without a bullet in you! So put down the gun." Mr.Nakayama said as he slowly approached Mr.Uchida who was shaking, his eyes being watery.
"YOU DONT KNOW THEM! They go deeper than what you ever imagine! And I'm not-"
"They? Not the white rabbit or the trickster?" Mr.Nakayama said, Mr.Uchida's eyes then slowly shrank as he just found out what he had said.
"...You know, I was wondering when you'd break. I thought it would be the window or when I tossed you to that desk, but guess it had to be suicide that finally did it." Mr.Nakayama said
"I won't confess! I'm not going in some cell where they can get to me!" Mr.Uchida shouted
"I don't plan on that. You see your part of a chain Mr.Uchida, maybe not a big part, but still a link nonetheless.
To the white rabbit and the trickster, and of course now...this secret third party.
Do you know the likelihood of a bullet to the head killing you instantaneously? It all depends on your shot, otherwise you'll be dealing with damages to the brain unfathomable.
Though that sounds much better than what those two will do to you." Mr.Nakayama said, Mr.Uchida's hand began to shake as his finger was gently on the trigger.
"Oh Mr.Uchida, tsk tsk tsk. They're going to get they're hands on you. Maybe the White rabbit will just make you a vegetable like he did the mad hatter, or maybe the trickster will just poison you with some wolfebane, yea. That good ol' purple poison.
Or...
Maybe the other people you mentioned before will come, and they'll do something worse than those two combined. There's nothing you can do, except come with me and answer the questions you've been needing to answer." Mr.Nakayama said, and just like that. Mr.Nakayama somehow made a 10% chance of survival, sound like 90%. That's when Mr.Nakyama extended his hand out, gesturing for the gun.
"Hand it over. Give it to me. Give it to me and you'll be out of here and someplace safe.
I promise. I haven't lied to you." Mr.Nakayama said with his hand extended, Mr.Uchida's hand shook viciously until he finally began to move hi hand towards Mr.Nakyama who yanked it from Mr.Uchida.
"...I'm sorry..." Mr.Uchida cried as he wiped his eyes.
"Yea, me too." Mr.Nakayama said as he then shot Mr.Uchida right in the leg. The man screamed in sheer unadulterated pain as he collapsed to the ground, he whined and whimpered as he looked at his leg to see his shin was completely destroyed.
"GUAHHH! ERGHHHH...Y-You, YOU!" Mr.Uchida shouted
"Assaulting an officer, contempt, and attempting to flee the scene of an investigation.
...you also took my gun and made an attempt on my life." Mr.Nakayama said, thats when Mr.Uchida's heart dropped like a stone in the ocean. His entire body and mind knew exactly what was happening.
"Had I not gotten to you, I would have been dead." Mr.Nakayama said, thats when he walked over Mr.Uchida and went to his computer. He then got on his phone and called Mr.Miyuki. It rang for a solid four minutes until Mr.Miyuki answered.
"MIYUKI! For God's sake! Why didn't you pick up sooner? I just got us the closet we've ever been to cracking this case!" Mr.Nakayama said
"I..uhhh, may have another problem..." Mr.Miyuki said, the sound of crashing waters and people could be heard on the other line.
"What...is that- is that the beach? Are you at the goddamn beach Miyuki?" Mr.Nakayama said.
Halfway across Japan, at one of its most famous beaches, near the famous beach town of Shirahama, in the Wakayama prefecture. Mr.Miyuki would be standing on the sand on the beach, in nothing but his underwear and with his phone.
"I think...I may have poked the hornets nest. A little too hard." Mr.Miyuki said as he looked around himself, hes more than 10 miles away from Ushin, away from case.
