Chapter 6 - The Meeting

The next day Sawa High would hold an assembly talking about Tatsuo's death. They described how unfortunate it was and everyone bowed in condolence. After that, a plethora of other announcements would be made, from there being a new club called "the gaming club" to there even being a new school play. However, that's when the principal would move out of the way for the student council. Kibe's eyes looked at them from the far back of the auditorium. He saw as each of them came and walked onto the stage, he of course knew Takashi. But the others he wasn't as familiar with, mainly due to their secrecy and the fact they weren't in the school records.

Kita Rin, 2nd head of the student council. As she walked on stage it was like her presence filled the room. Her long almost angelic-like lavender hair swayed behind her, figure and body almost hypnotizing to the boys around. Known well for her coldness to romance and instructs the sports festival for the school every year. She walked across the stage with a yellow and white fan blocking her lips and nose, only her cherry eyes were visible. She is well-built.

Next to come out after her was Ido Cho, 3rd head of the council. She was a shorter girl, her hair was pink, and wore a red and white bowtie. Her eyes were reflective and had a deep color of striking velvet. She wore a wide smile on her face as she walked behind Rin. Cho was known for being the head of robotics at the school.

the next after her was, Kawano Katsumi. This slightly taller boy would walk out, no one had ever seen his face before. He always wore a paper bag over his head with a smile drawn on it. He was known pretty well as a man of chance and luck. He always came out on top though. People say he cheats, but how can one cheat luck? Supposedly he is always offering up his spot to those who can best him, but again. No one has.

And then finally came out the head of the student council, known not just here, but even other schools had heard about him.

Nakama Hideaki, his school uniform wasn't messed with nor fancy looking. His hair was jet black and his eyes a blue haze. He didn't seem to hold himself high though his posture would have you assume he did. He didn't seem to be even here mentally. His eyes seemed almost somewhere else like he was focused on an entirely different matter. When Hideaki approached the podium, everyone gave a loud round of applause. Katsumi stood on Hideaki's left along with Takashi while Cho and Rin were on his right.

"Greeting student body. It is my great pleasure to announce that your student council has decided to open up this school to even more schools and other well-established private schools. We are also introducing two other clubs, but this won't be all of them. But we're starting small for now. We're going to be having a quick meet and greet as some of the students have already arrived here and eagerly await our voices to welcome them.

I'm also here to say that I, and I speak for all members of the council when I say this. Are all deeply affected by the unfortunate suicide of Hino Tatsuo. I hope that hes found a better place and that all students whenever in need of guidance whether it be for school or everyday life. That you would take to a counselor. Now with everything out of the way, let's go ahead and begin the meet and greet. Once it's over your classes will commence as normal." Hideaki said with a large smile and a voice that was comforting to everyone, it felt like honey on your ears and a pinch of delight to your soul. Everyone got up and began to walk and chat with one another.

"Next class begins in the next hour, there's nothing really of interest here for me. Best to remain in my seat till it's over. " Kibe thought to himself, his eyes looking around at people and hearing their voices, his mind of course thinking of critical actions and people every second he got. However, that's when his arm would get pulled by none other than Mi.

"Kibe, glad I found you. Oh? What are you doing just sitting down?" She asked

"Nothing here interest me. It's just a bunch of other students mumbling to one another. I intend to wait here and then move on with my day." Kibe said

"Boo, that's no fun. Come on let's go ahead and meet some people." Mi said as she tried to tug on him, but his body didn't move an inch.

"I'm not interested." Kibe said

"Hey! Your Kibe right?" said a voice behind Mi, Kibe, and Mi looked to see a student walk toward them with a few others behind him. He was wearing a black belt tied around his waist and a headband with a karate symbol on it. His hair was slicked back and was a much

"Ryota! Glad to see you." Mi said as he approached. Kibe looked at him, Shimomura Ryota, head of the sports and fitness club. Popular with people like Mi and supposedly got in trouble for starting fights a long while ago. Though he seems to have taken on a new life...whatever that may be worth.

"Mi, it's good to see you. Your friend?" Ryota asked

"Oh, this Kibe, hes been a long-time friend," Mi said

"The Kibe? The one you mentioned? Well, it's a pleasure. Mi talks about you frequently." Ryota said as he extended his hand to Kibe. Kibe stood up and shook Ryota's hand. Both of them grasped each other in a firm handshake.

"That's a good grip you got. Do you do sports? Practice anything?" Ryota asked

"Only on test." Kibe replied, Ryota nodded.

"...Well, we were going to have a nice little game of baseball game outside. Care to join us? The more the merrier hehe." Ryota asked, Mi also gave a chuckle along with everyone else, but as he did his eyes were glancing at Kibe.

"Hes tone, no, hes slim, and yet that grip. It was strong. Like I was shaking a full-grown man's hand. This guy definitely does some sort of sport. Maybe personal exercise. Yea, that's probably it. He doesn't even have any muscles or anything, just a very lightly built physique. He looks like he couldn't even pick up 100lbs." Ryota thought as he then looked at Mi as she looked at Kibe.

"Well, we'll meet you two out there hopefully. Alright, guys let's go." Ryota said as he left with the rest of his friends.

"A game of baseball, that sounds like fun. We should go try it out and then we can go to Sweet Harmony to get us another chocolate crown!" Mi said in excitement. Kibe however was still focused on why a member of the student council was at that warehouse last night. How would they have known he was there? Did they hack his phone? Were they behind the attacks? He had to know what lead they had on this whole thing. Not to mention he still needed to talk to Akia.

"Excuse me." said a voice behind Kibe and Mi. They both turned to see another student behind them.

"The student council wanted me to let you know, they wanted to talk to you Nori." said the student, Mi looked at Kibe and watched as he got ready to walk with the student.

"Kibe-"

"I'll meet you at the baseball field. This won't be long." Kibe said as he walked away, Mi held her hand to her chest as she worried about him. She looked one last time in his direction before walking away. Kibe and the student walked towards the auditorium stage, As they did Kibe looked up and saw Cho looking at him from behind the curtains, his eyes and hers met before she then disappeared back behind it. The student led Kibe towards the side of the stage where stairs were going up towards the stage.

"They're up there." said the student, Kibe didn't stop though, and kept walking past the student and up the stairs, Once he got up the stairs as he did his eyes would eventually meet with them, the student council. They all were standing adjacent to one another. Cho was sitting in a chair looking at Kibe, Katsumi was leaning against the wall flipping a coin constantly, Rin was sitting next to Cho and Takashi was standing behind Hideaki. Kibe stood in front of them looking at their eyes, but they all had something different about them, something he couldn't exactly read. Kibe looked around a bit more and saw other students up there with them, some putting stuff away and others chatting with each other. If this was a sort of sit-down, then it was a well-crowded one.

"Greetings Nori Kibe, it's a pleasure to meet you." Hideaki said with a smile

"Likewise." Kibe replied

"Nice hair, who cuts it?" asked Rin

"My mother." Kibe replied to which Rin chuckled as she waved her fan in her face. Kibe's eyes went back to Hideaki.

"I just want you to know we're not trying to intimidate you. We just thought we'd ask a couple of questions. Then your free to go." Hideaki

"What does answering your questions benefit me?" Kibe asked

"Well I mean, I think we all just want to make sure that our beloved school is safe and sound. Which is why we brought you here." Hideaki answered, Katsumi looked from his coin and at Hideaki

"What do you want?" Kibe asked

"Well, as you heard Hino Tatsuo died yesterday." Hideaki said

"That's unfortunate." Kibe said, his voice sounding a bit shocked

"Yes indeed, we just wanted to know if perhaps you know if he was getting bullied or anything? As most times these are the cause of abuse and immense amounts of stress and depression." Hideaki asked

"Can't say. We were never close. Though he sounds like a great guy, I'm sure we would have gotten along." Kibe said as he used his tie to wipe his eyes. Takashi just stared at him.

"Well, some word around says you two have had conversations before. Sure you don't know anything?" Hideaki asked again

"Can't say I do." Kibe said, this was mild at best, perhaps testing to see if he'd be truthful maybe? Or were they asking him if he knew cause they didn't know themselves? Either way Kibe knew to keep things mild between them.

"I'm telling you Hide, nothing on this guy. Hes just a nobody. Right Kibe?" Takashi asked to which Kibe looked at him and then back to Hideaki.

"Are you?" Hideaki asked

"Nothing else better to describe me." Kibe said, Hideaki nodded and then put his hands together.

"Well, that's all we wanted to ask. You know we weren't trying to scare you right? We just wanted to know if any potential threats are hiding in the shadows ya'know? Hehehe, all evil villain like and all that." Hideaki chuckled

"Yeah, we're just looking for any bad guys." Rin said with a smile, Hideaki looked back at her and then turned to Kibe with a smile to which Kibe looked at him with a smile of his own.

"Yea, the bad guys. You see we've been meaning to get some investigations started ever since it happened. Ya'know maybe get some outside eyes on the situation." Hideaki said

"Police don't help do anything than make things more difficult." Kibe said

"Well, As true as that may be. They still are part of the reason why this school remains safe along with many others. They help keep the bad men in check if you know what I mean." Hideaki said

"I do." Kibe replied

"People often think they're above consequences, that they won't ever be met with the daylight that rises with their actions of the past. But at some point, everyone meets their demons. Whether it be tomorrow or the day after, maybe even a year later. But we all meet with our demons." Hideaki said

"Demons are part of superstition, just like angels and miracles. Nothing has proven them to exist, just like how karma doesn't, and neither fate. To see the world as black and white is to miss all the meaning in humanity." Kibe replied

"That's quite the mind you got. Wish we had some sharper tools like you walking around more." Hideaki said

"No, you don't." Kibe said to which Cho then looked at the two of them. Hideaki and Kibe stood staring at one another for a moment. Until Hideaki clapped his hands together with a smile.

"Alright then, thanks for showing up. We know there are a lot of fun activities going on right now. So we'd hate to keep you any longer than necessary. Hopefully, we get to meet again, I like people like you, Kibe." Hideaki said as Kibe looked at him one last time before bowing and walking away

"Hey Kibe!" shouted Hideaki to which Kibe stopped on the stairs and looked back.

"Stay out of trouble, okay?" Hideaki said, Kibe simply looked at him, gave a smile, and waved back as he left. Once he left Hideaki looked in his direction one last time, before walking off with the rest of the student council.
