The root guardian swung a heavy limb at her, but she ducked and rolled, coming up behind it and slashing through its core. There was a bigger number and the word 'crit!' as the creature let out a groan before collapsing into a pile of roots and dirt.
I faced another guardian, its glowing eyes fixed on me. It swung a thick, root-like arm in my direction. I sidestepped the attack, feeling the rush of air as it missed me by inches. Using my agility, I closed the distance and delivered a powerful strike to its midsection.
The blade bit into the bark, and the guardian staggered. I followed up with a series of quick slashes, each one chipping away at its form until it crumbled to the ground. Although I won, a lot of its whips made contact with my character, and half of my HP was drained.
Silver Elf and I continued to fight side by side, our movements not very synchronized and even less so efficient, only saved by her supreme fighting abilities.
