Another beast lunged at me, its claws extended. I ducked under its swipe and slashed upwards, the blade slicing through its underbelly. The creature let out a guttural scream and fell to the ground, writhing in agony before disappearing into pixelated sparks.
I didn't have time to celebrate; another beast was already upon me. It pounced, and I barely managed to raise my sword in time to block its attack. Using this cheat, I kicked its head and used the opening created to thrust the blade into its neck.
Silver Elf, always aware of her surroundings, moved to cover my flank. She dispatched another beast with a swift, clean cut to its throat, then pivoted gracefully to face the next threat. Her eyes met mine briefly, and I easily noticed her life bar was full. We fought back to back, our movements synchronized as we faced the remaining monsters.
