Merry and I eventually left Nyssa's house. We took a bath together, having the whole bathroom for ourselves since Nyssa was an only child. This couple was lonely and had failed to make a child all these years, so having her was a boon for them.
Her presence did not make them stop trying though, according to her. Just like when Merry joined my family, the memory change was enough to make people accept you, but not enough to change their emotions on a fundamental level.
As we walked down the road, Merry wrapped her hand around me in a hug. It was the inappropriate type of hug, one full of groping. That must be how a girl feels walking side by side with a predator in the middle of the night when she's back from the club.
"Do you want to say something?" I asked, irritated. I didn't mind letting her touch me, but somehow I felt violated.
"Uh, I'm just getting used to your new physique. Don't mind me." She explained shortly, continuing her misdeeds.
