"Wakey Wakey" was the sound that filled Emilia's head as she fell back into reality and consciousness. She could feel the soft texture of the pillow she was lying on as she tried to keep her eyes closed despite her conscious state until it dawned on her.
she lay on the pillows in her room millions of times, but it had never felt this soft. she immediately opened her eyes and sat abruptly and realized it indeed wasn't her bedroom.
the walls were a dark shade of chestnut brown, and it gave off a medieval atmosphere. The chairs, carpets, and curtains were all a shade of blood red. there were candles positioned on the top shelf of each wall that illuminated light into the room, there was a chandelier positioned in the middle of the room that was as well littered with burning candles that completely lit up the room. She sat on a queen-sized bed that screamed loyalty and was also a shade of red.
at this point, she had begun to think that she was dead. she gave herself a few slaps on the cheeks and even pinched herself a couple of times but unfortunately for her, she wasn't dead or dreaming. She stood up and took slow unsteady steps towards the window that was positioned across the queen-sized bed she had been laying on.
when she made it to the window her jaw dropped. she was at the very top of what seemed like a castle. it looked like she was miles away from the ground and she could barely make up the figures of the trees so tall that it surrounded the building she was in.
"Ahh so the human is finally awake" A cold voice interrupted her thoughts making Emilia jump back in both fear and surprise.
In front of her stood a man with dirty blond hair and piercing ice-blue eyes, staring at her with a cold blank stare. he was dressed in casual clothes which consisted of black jeans and a hoodie.
the way he stared at Emlia sent chills up her spine and made her shift uncomfortably.
"That's enough scaring the human Rafael" She turned her attention to the direction of the very familiar voice and almost immediately the air was knocked out of her lungs.
he had jet-black hair and pale skin. His eyes were a shade of blood red with a tint of black, outlining his pupils. he wore a black dress shirt that was buttoned to the very tip with a bow, black dress pants that matched his black shoes perfectly, a black coat that reached his lower thigh, and to seal off the outfit he wore various types of chains, not too much but enough to really make his outfit sparkle.
"What do you mean enough? We're vampires Damon,It's what we do" the blond guy, Rafael, said.
"You've always been a sucker for old traditions huh" the dark-haired guy, Damon, says.
"Do you think that if you happened to stand in front of them, and announced that you're a vamoire, they wouldn't take a second before staking your heart" Rafael argued.
"They aren't capable of doing that" Damon said.
"Well that doesn't stop them from trying it" Rafael argued back.
as they argued back, and forward Emilia looked for something she could use to defend herself. she knew from the fairytales that vampires were deadly and could kill you in the blink of an eye if they wanted to, and she didn't intend to take her chances.
She scanned the room and there was, a dagger right next to the bed she was just lying on. The handle was the color of goldish brown with a few embers decorating it, it was expressly sharp and looked like it could cut through flesh easily.
She walked as quietly as she could and picked up the dagger. Many questions slipped into her thoughts but the one that outshined the rest was why they had a dagger in this room specifically, or was there a dagger in every room of this seemingly large palace.
"you can't go around talking bad about people Raf, that's not how you make friends" Damon said arguing back with Rafael.
"That's not what she thinks" Rafael replied gesturing to Emilia who now held a dagger in front of them, pointing it at the two boys.
"Don't scare the human he said" Rafael remarked sarcastically.
Damon made his way towards Emilia making her point the dagger out as a form of defense.
"Don't come any closer" Emilia said defensively, ignoring the feeling of fear in her that caused her hands to shake and sweat slightly.
"They can't possibly hurt you he said" Rafael remarked again louder than the previous time.
"You're not helping" Damon said as he sent a glare in Rafael's direction.
"Oh I'm not trying to help, you brought her here and now she's your problem. " Rafael said as he took steps back from Damon Damon released an annoyed sigh.
Damon turned his attention to the girl in front of him. Her strawberry scent filled the room and the smell of her blood was enough to drive him wild.
He noticed the most simplest and specific details from the girl standing in front of him.
He noticed how her dark red her- almost burgundy red - curled only slightly at the ends of her hair. He noticed her emerald-red eyes and plump heart-shaped lips. He noticed her hourglass shape and everything about her drove him crazy.
"Where am I?" her shaky voice asked.
He had never once met a human like her, mainly because he had devoured every human he laid eyes on. what could he say he was a vampire after all.
But there was something about this human. Something about her drew him closer to him. The smell and taste of her blood were so sweet and tender that he realized it had been something he had been craving for, the missing piece to his puzzle.
"Your new home," Rafael said coldly.
Rafael was not a big fan of humans reason being that humans were the very reason his parents were killed by vampire hunters.
Back in the day when vampires and humans hunted and killed each other. He and both his parents let their guard down and led a vampire hunter to their home. His parents only had enough time to hide their son when they smelled the human near their home.
He watched as the hunter mercilessly killed his parents while he was hidden away safe from the hunter's wrath. From that day on he despised the very existence of humans and would mercilessly kill them when feeding on their blood.
"Home...this isn't my home" Emilia said quickly while skiing her head.
"Well sucks to suck doesn't it" Rafael retorted sarcastically
This moment of weakness as Damon enough time to get to her and through the knife across the room and push her towards the wall while he cowered over her.
"I thought you would've learnt not to underestimate me," Damon said keeping his arms on both her sides preventing her from moving as he lowered himself closer to her neck and inhaled her scent.
"What's wrong human? Cat caught your tongue?" he asked in a low voice. Emilia stood frozen in fear knowing that it wouldn't end well.
