It's been three days since I was reborn in this world. These few days have really been a rollercoaster of emotions. I finally came to terms with the fact that this is not a dream but my new reality, and now with that confirmation, I could finally fully immerse myself in this world, which has left me speechless many times in the past three days.
I have seen monstrosities that would make a grown man cry. Thankfully, I am an insect and don't have tears, but the beasts are scary nonetheless.
But what I have observed in this time is that not all the animals are such monstrosities. It seems only a few are special.
There are many normal animals as well that you could see on Earth, like bears and deer, and a lot of insects!
But regarding those strange creatures, I decided to call them magical beasts since they seem to be able to use magic powers!
Like that huge centipede; I have seen it again a few times while I was out looking for some food. I saw it hunting some normal beasts; that thing seems to be able to spit fire, roasting those creatures on the spot, then eating them in one mouthful!
But other than the centipede, I have also seen a giant Azure deer when I was searching for a lake to look at my reflection. It seemed to be using the lake as a giant bed as it was sleeping on the surface of the water!
Which left me in shock when I first saw it, but I immediately regained my calm since I knew this wasn't my old world anymore, and I had seen the centipede already. Plus, magical creatures like this seem to appear here and there, not very uncommon. I have seen a few strange ones, not as impressive as those two, but just as magical looking, like flying snakes or giant ants. If you can imagine it, you can probably find it in this strange forest.
And more importantly, I finally know what kind of insect I am!
After looking at my reflection in the lake of the huge deer, I was able to identify my species as a Hercules Beetle, which made me quite happy as this species of beetle is regarded as one of the strongest animals of my old world!
But even after finding out, it didn't change my insect life much. At the end of the day, I was still only a small insect in a world full of magical creatures. I had thought about becoming one of those magical creatures myself, but I don't even know if one can become one or if you are born like that.
Anyways, my life as a insect isn't too bad. I can look for tree sap to eat and laze in the sun or spy on those magical creatures for entertainment. Being a small insect has its advantages as well, since no big magical creature would pay any attention to little old me.
As for the normal animals that would like to snack on me, like birds or small mamels I am too smart for them, always hiding and avoiding them with my human-level intelligence it's pretty easy to do so.
Or so I thought...
