In the G-5 branch building, in the main office on the top floor, Vergo usually maintains a serious demeanor. However, for the first time, the well-dressed Vergo can't keep a straight face, and his expression changes dramatically.
"How is this possible! How could Kaido come here directly? The angel girl? Is it King Arthur?" Vergo stepped to the window, his face twisted in worry as he looked in the direction of the noise.
Boom!
In the distance, Vergo saw Kaido at the port, smashing a fortress with a single punch.
"This is bad! What should I do?" Vergo thought to himself, knowing Kaido's immense power. He was a man who even struck fear into Doflamingo, the king.
Using his Observation Haki to sense his surroundings, Vergo detected that several people were approaching.
After a moment of contemplation, Vergo quickly disappeared. In a secret room that no one knew about, he appeared and took a Den Den Mushi (transmission snail) from the cabinet.
"Blubru~ Blubru~"
Click.
He picked up the Den Den Mushi, but there was silence on the other end.
"Kaido has come to the G-5 branch. What should I do?" Vergo ignored the silence and spoke directly.
"Huh? What!? Kaido? What's going on?" Doflamingo's voice crackled with urgency.
"I'm looking for Major General Jessica, King Arthur's woman," Vergo said, his voice grave.
"Is she the one with the Lion Fruit powers?" Doflamingo's expression darkened. "Why would Kaido target Arthur's woman for revenge? It's not like he can gain anything from this."
Both of them fell silent for a moment.
Vergo was an important pawn for Doflamingo, but with Kaido attacking the G-5 branch, Vergo's life was at risk. 'That man is not even my enemy.'
"Damn it!" Doflamingo's face was grim, blue veins bulging on his forehead. Even though he was usually ruthless, he cared deeply for his loyal subordinates.
"I can't persuade Kaido. You need to be careful and inform Navy Headquarters that Admiral Kizaru should be dispatched. If you can hold on for a while, you might be able to wait for reinforcements."
"I suspect Kaido just wants to capture the woman and threaten Arthur. He's only showing up; he doesn't dare to enter the first half after his last sneak attack left him badly injured."
"He wants to get back at Arthur. First, inform Navy Headquarters. If there's no other option..." Doflamingo paused for a moment. "Pretend to be gravely injured and play dead! Your life is extremely important!" With that, Doflamingo hung up.
Vergo silently placed the Den Den Mushi back in the cabinet, then vanished and reappeared outside. As he walked towards the port using Moonwalk, he took out another Den Den Mushi to contact his superior.
At the port, Jessica had arrived, staring at Kaido and a massive Pteranodon flying above with a worried expression.
Although she had become quite strong in recent years due to her Devil Fruit powers, she was still just an accomplished swordsman, barely reaching the rank of a lieutenant general without her powers.
Raphael and Wald flew beside Jessica, watching Kaido wreak havoc in the distance while shouting towards the branch building.
"What should we do? I need to inform the God! He will definitely arrive quickly with his speed!" Wald, who was usually calm, said anxiously as he took out a Den Den Mushi hidden on his person.
"Wait!" Jessica turned to stop Wald. "Because of Arthur, I'm now a Marine. Navy Headquarters should handle this situation! Admiral Kizaru is just as fast as Arthur. We should rely on him for support."
"This..." Wald frowned, unsure.
"No!" Rafael interjected immediately. "We need to inform the God! Kaido is too powerful! We won't be able to hold him off for long."
"And didn't you see? King Disaster Jin is here too. Even if the three of us can hold off two of them, we still can't resist Kaido!"
"If Admiral Kizaru arrives, we may only need to manage the situation. We might not stand a chance, but the War Angels of the two legions are God's efforts. If they are heavily injured, the consequences will be disastrous."
After finishing, Rafael's eyes burned with determination, though he glanced at Kaido with regret. This man was on an entirely different level.
"Besides, I'm sure the God would be eager for another great battle after being idle for so long," Rafael chuckled.
But Jessica shook her head slowly. "Marshal Sengoku will definitely send Admiral Kizaru before things get out of hand! Arthur is currently in seclusion, so we shouldn't disturb him."
"This... well..." Rafael frowned but nodded.
He realized that if Admiral Kizaru arrived and Arthur showed up, they would miss their chance to confront Kaido alone.
Navy Headquarters wouldn't allow the G-5 branch to become a battlefield for the three great powers. This place was crucial for the Marines.
Meanwhile, at Marine Headquarters, Marineford.
Bang!
"What do you mean!? Kaido attacked the G-5 branch? And he brought his crew with him? What is going on!?"
Sengoku hadn't been this grim in a long time, especially after hearing that Vergo, the highest officer of the G-5 branch, was asking for help.
According to the report, Sengoku nearly suffered a heart attack.
On the other end, Vergo rushed to explain the situation briefly.
"What? Because of Major General Jessica?" Sengoku said, bewildered, but he quickly grasped the situation. "Kaido must be afraid of another attack from the rear and wants to retaliate against King Arthur. That's why he targeted the G-5 branch to threaten Jessica."
"Lieutenant General Vergo, hold on against Kaido! I will send Kizaru right away! After all, Major General Jessica is part of the Marines. We have to handle this!" Sengoku said firmly before hanging up. He then made another call.
"Hello? Kizaru! You need to rush to the G-5 branch as fast as you can! Kaido is currently attacking! We cannot lose the G-5 branch or allow it to be heavily damaged!" Sengoku quickly issued the urgent order as soon as the call connected.
"Oh? Kaido? Attacking the G-5 branch? That's bad. Why would that guy attack there?" Kizaru's voice was relaxed, almost indifferent, coming from the Den Den Mushi.
"Don't take this lightly, Kizaru! The situation is critical! Kaido is trying to lure King Arthur here by using Major General Jessica as a threat. We need to ensure her safety!" Sengoku added, remembering the importance of Major General Jessica to the Marines and her connection to King Arthur.
"Oh, this is quite troublesome. That guy is a real threat," Kizaru replied slowly before hanging up. He transformed into a beam of light and took off.
"Eight-foot Mirror!"
In the sky, Kizaru positioned his hands parallel to each other and opened them up and down. A mirror made of golden light appeared, and a beam shot out toward the G-5 branch.
Without this technique, he wouldn't be able to fly directly at light speed; otherwise, he would be far off course.
Sengoku's face was serious as he placed the Den Den Mushi on the table and took a deep breath before sitting down.
"Kaido is such a troublesome guy!" Despite his doubts about Arthur, Sengoku held a favorable view of him overall. Three months ago, Arthur had proposed increased funding for the Marines at the World Summit, which had made Sengoku's life easier.
The collaboration from years past had also significantly improved the records of several branches in the Grand Line and New World.
Suddenly, Sengoku's expression changed. He looked up at the door as urgent footsteps rushed toward him.
Bang!
The door to the Marshal's office burst open, and a major general rushed in, saluting sharply. "Report, Marshal! The G-5 branch has been attacked by Kaido!"
Sengoku sighed, ready to respond that he already knew, but the major general continued without pause.
"We have received additional information! Big Mom has set sail half an hour ago, and her target is also the G-5 branch!"
"What!?"
Bang!
Sengoku's face paled, and his Conqueror's Haki surged, causing the table to crack and shift slightly from the force of his aura.
The major general who had delivered the urgent news paled in shock, struggling to maintain consciousness under Sengoku's overwhelming presence.
Sengoku quickly retracted his Conqueror's Haki and asked, eyes wide with disbelief, "Is this news confirmed? Charlotte Linlin has gone to sea, and her target is also the G-5 branch!?"
"Y-Yes!" the major general gasped, struggling to catch his breath.
"How could this happen!? Kaido attacks the G-5 to lure King Arthur over, and now Big Mom is involved? Are they working together? What is their true aim?" Sengoku muttered, his mind racing as he considered the possibility of a conspiracy.
"Report! We intercepted information about the Big Mom Pirates! The Four Emperors' Big Mom set sail after learning that Kaido attacked the G-5 branch. It seems she also wants to confront King Arthur!"
"Huh? She wants to deal with King Arthur too?" Sengoku's eyes widened in shock. "When did she end her vendetta against him?"
"No! We have to inform King Arthur about this situation!" Sengoku decided quickly.
With Akainu at Navy Headquarters and Aokiji stationed in the first half of the Grand Line, neither could arrive in time. Sengoku knew only Arthur, besides Kizaru, had the ability to travel long distances at high speeds.
Ignoring the major general who reported the news, Sengoku grabbed another ordinary Den Den Mushi from the table and began dialing.
The Den Den Mushi he had just used was meant for communication with Marine senior officers, while this one was specifically for Arthur, someone Sengoku considered a high priority.
"Blubru~ Blubru~"
On the Island of Gods, in a room filled with various Den Den Mushi, one with the Marine logo rang loudly.
"Huh? Sengoku?" Arthur, who had just entered the room to use the Sea's Sand for his evolution, paused, sensing the urgency in the call.
