As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the streets of Lagos, Emeka and Ayo found themselves enveloped in the cloak of night. The city took on a different character after dark, its secrets and dangers lurking in every shadow.
Emeka's senses were on high alert as they navigated the dimly lit streets, his muscles tense with anticipation. He couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched, that danger lurked around every corner.
Ayo, ever the vigilant one, scanned their surroundings with keen eyes. "Something no dey feel right, Emeka," he muttered, his voice low and wary.
Emeka nodded in agreement, his heart pounding in his chest. "I feel am too, Ayo. We need to dey careful, no let anything catch us off guard."
As they rounded a corner, they came face to face with a group of men loitering in the shadows, their faces obscured by the darkness.
"Who goes there?" Emeka called out, his voice steady despite the unease churning in his gut.
The men stepped forward, their movements slow and deliberate. "We dey look for trouble, boys," one of them growled, his voice rough with menace.
Emeka's jaw clenched as he squared his shoulders, his gaze unwavering. "You no go find am here," he replied, his tone laced with defiance. "We no dey fear anybody for dis streets."
Ayo stood beside him, his presence a reassuring anchor in the darkness. "Make una no try us, o," he warned, his voice carrying a hint of danger.
The men exchanged glances, sizing up Emeka and Ayo with wary eyes. But they made no move to attack, choosing instead to melt back into the shadows from whence they came.
Emeka let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding, the tension in his muscles easing slightly. "We need to dey vigilant, Ayo," he said, his voice low but resolute. "Trouble fit come from anywhere for dis city."
Ayo nodded in agreement, his expression serious. "We go dey ready for anything wey come our way, Emeka. We no go let anything happen to us."
With that, they continued on their way, the night alive with the sounds of the city. But as they walked, they knew that danger lurked around every corner, and they would need to stay vigilant if they wanted to survive.
