Vlad's eyes narrowed as he turned to the beautiful angel woman. Her face was calm yet menacing, and there was a meaningful light in her large blue eyes. No words were exchanged between the young man and the angel, but a silent clash started.
While Orion might not care about Asmael and the group of angels with whom he clashed back in Codia University, Ion was not only a Knight from her family but also a powerful Champion, something very valuable considering just how hard it was to send people to a New Plane like Terra. If Vlad carried on, it would clearly mean that the relationship between him and the angelic woman would not be amicable.
Vlad stared at the woman, and without taking his eyes off her, he buried his sword into Ion's neck, piercing it all the way into the heart of the Champion angel.
Silence reigned for a moment, but soon, confusion appeared in the eyes of all the humans and soldiers as they saw a massive amount of Origin Force flowing into his body. The civilians of Good Side Town and the soldiers of the Silent Wind Military Base were puzzled by the presence of that energy that was supposed to be granted upon killing demons.
Vlad felt the immense amount of Origin Force inside his Soul Dimension. He immediately focused, splitting it into two streams, sending one into his body and the other to his Sea of Consciousness. Immediately, a feeling of clarity and peace assaulted him, and he could not help but smile.
The battle with Ion had pushed him beyond his limit, and without this Origin Force enhancing his body and mind, Vlad would have passed out in a few minutes. After regaining some of his power, he turned toward Orion and smiled at the woman.
"Aliens are always a good source of Origin Force."
As the people of Good Side Town and the soldiers of the Silent Wind Military Base heard Vlad's words, they were in pure shock, and immediately, they began to gaze at Orion and the rest of the soldiers with distrust.
Before, Orion and her soldiers were angels sent by God and prophesied in the Bible, yet now they were Aliens from other worlds, and the voice that gave them access to the Level System made it clear they needed to die.
That reaction was exactly what Vlad was after. He could have said it, but would people have believed him? Instead of taking his chance, it was better to show it to all.
If before Orion was angry, now there was nothing but pure hatred and wrath in her heart as she stared at the young man. She was not a fool and planned to reveal the truth slowly and sporadically, gaining the people's hearts and a lot of zealots before disclosing the information. Still, Vlad just announced it to everybody in the worst possible way.
Orion glanced at the walls and saw that all the angels were waiting for her signal to massacre everybody. Just as she was trying to decide her next step and whether or not to silence everybody here, her eyes widened as she noticed that other than her angels, there was a small cat on top of the wall.
'When?'
The woman had felt the uniqueness around the small yellow cat and had been paying attention to this one, but she lost focus as Vlad killed Ion. It was just a moment, but it was enough for the cat to reach the top of the wall, and the worst part was that, other than her, none of the angels had detected his presence.
"General Anglius, please accommodate these people inside the military base. It has been a long journey, and they need to rest."
Vlad did not give the angel time to figure out her next step. He simply spoke toward General Anglius before taking the space ring of Ion and making the man's body vanish.
"What do you think you are doing? Hand over Knight Ion's body and his belongings now!"
Orion shouted as she saw that Vlad planned to keep Ion's corpse and space ring, but the young man looked at her calmly.
"In a Soul Duel, we bet our souls, which means betting on everything we have, even our corpses. I am just abiding by the rules of Heaven. Of course, if you tell me something is wrong with your customs, go ahead and say it."
Orion's eyes narrowed, and the woman was once again perplexed by Vlad's understanding of Heaven's customs. She wanted to say something, but if any of the angels present were to reveal she disrespected Heaven's rules, she could not endure the punishment.
Vlad glanced at the woman for a moment before turning toward General Anglius. The middle-aged man was shocked by the sudden turn of events, but soon, a sharp light appeared in his eyes as he focused on Lieutenant Mitchell.
"Lieutenant Mitchell, send the civilians into the military base and find a proper place for them. They must remain in their homes for the time being, and none is authorized to roam on their own."
"¡Yes, Sir!"
Lieutenant Mitchell was also shocked by everything that happened. Still, as soon as he got an order from General Anglius, he immediately nodded and returned to the civilians before giving orders to the soldiers.
"We should continue our conversation, General Anglius."
The one who spoke was General Omar, the same person who had remained silent this entire time. The old man's voice was calm as he stared at Anglius, remaining by Orion's side, clearly not disturbed by the revelation of the angels' alien status.
General Anglius stared at the old man and glanced at Orion. While the fact that the woman was considered an Alien by the Plane Will was surprising, it did not mean he would blindly ignore them, and he remained silent for a moment before softly nodding.
"You are right. We should continue our conversation."
Orion and General Omar smiled as they heard those words. Even if they lost the favoritism of the ordinary people, as long as they could keep General Anglius and their soldiers on their side, they could fix things. However, the following words of the middle-aged man made their smiles freeze.
"Sir Vlad, could you accompany us? I need someone well-versed in these topics by my side."
