Chapter 24 - Understanding the new world (IV)

Jormungandr's eyes lit up with curiosity and eagerness at the mention of his potential abilities.

"Boss, do I also have a Racial Innate Ability?"

"Since the Plane Will opened your Sea of Consciousness, you should have access to your interface panel. Just focus on it, and it should appear."

Vlad watched as Jormungandr concentrated. The next moment, shock appeared on the small yellow cat's face as he began to glance at the air in front of him. The small yellow cat was looking at his stats window, but Vlad couldn't see it because it was a virtual projection only Jormungandr could access.

'I should also check mine.'

As soon as that thought appeared in Vlad's mind, a virtual screen appeared before him.

[Name: Vlad Xaos

Race: Human?

Level: 1

Lineage: Thunder Lord

...

Stats:

Strength: 2.9

Agility: 2.3

Vitality: 3.0

Energy Pool (Force): 1.4

...

Skills:

I Am Wrath: As the user sustains injuries or becomes increasingly enraged, their physical strength, speed, and energy pool capacity are incrementally enhanced. This enhancement is proportional to the severity of their wounds and the depth of their emotional turmoil.

This immense surge of power comes at a cost. If the user's body is not sufficiently strong to handle the increased energy, they risk a severe physical backlash.

Gift:

-Samsara Typhoon]

A wide smile appeared on Vlad's face as he reviewed his stats. His base stats were overwhelmingly higher than a standard Level 1 Warrior, and he was confident his growth would be accelerated with each Level.

It was clear that his Depravita Racial Heritage had an immense effect. However, the Thunder Lord Bloodline upgrade he obtained from Asmal was so diluted that its influence was negligible.

Unless Vlad pushed the bloodline's power higher than his Depravita Racial Heritage, the bloodline would not impact his physical might, as both worked under the same principles. However, he could still obtain Bloodline Abilities, so it is wise to focus on it.

Although the screen showed 'I Am Wrath,' it did not reveal a difference in his race. Vlad took it as Terra still seeing him as human. That was good; if he changed too much, he might lose access to the Origin Force.

"Boss, there seems to be a skill. Its name is Gluttony Spirit. I will passively absorb ambient magical energy from their surroundings, slowly replenishing my energy pool, and I will also abroad residual energy from any spell unleashed near me."

When Vlad heard about Jormungandr's ability, he was ecstatic. It focused on the Mage Path, which worked well for his future plans.

"I also have a part that says Gifts, but it's empty. What is that?"

Vlad once again accessed Asmael's memories and knowledge to give Jormungandr an answer.

"Gifts are innate abilities similar to Bloodline Abilities, but while the second emerges from your bloodline, your Gift comes from your soul. They grow more powerful as you rise in strength. There are powerful Gifts and weak Gifts. Some could allow you access to Champion-Level Abilities while you are still a Mortal, and others have little effect on your battle power."

While Vlad had no idea what Level his Gift was, he still remembered Oliver's Silver Skin. That ability was designed for Warriors, and it could grant the physical defenses of a Level 6 to Level 1 Oliver for a determined amount of time.

Asmael knew all that and was extremely envious of the human since he himself did not have a Gift. Had Oliver taken the Warrior Path, he could have been on the front line, but the angel broke that due to his greed and petty personality.

Of course, Vlad didn't really care about the man. After all, Oliver was also one of the people who tried to pressure him into allowing Asmael to devour his soul.

"Don't worry too much about your lack of Gift. Your Racial Innate Ability is not any less powerful, and its growth potential is also immense."

The little yellow cat nodded at those words. There was no reason to sulk over the lack of Gifts. Instead, Jormugandr focused on what he had.

"So, Boss, should I start accumulating the Origin Force and rising in Levels?"

Vlad immediately shook his head upon hearing Jormungandr's words. He could sense the eagerness in the small yellow cat to use Origin Force to advance in Level, a sentiment likely shared by many humans now. However, Vlad saw this approach as flawed.

"First of all, Jormungandr, there are multiple ways to rise in Level, and we can utilize the natural energy that surrounds the world to enhance our energy pool using cultivation techniques.

While advancing through cultivation will be slower than transforming Origin Force into Force or Magic, it expands our Sea of Consciousness. Many people are stuck at a certain Level not due to a lack of talent but because they hastily increase their energy pool, exerting too much pressure on their Sea of Consciousness and hindering its growth."
