A large double door made of hardened redwood, decorated with finely forged glistening copper braces to support its massive frame. The golden and overly expensive-looking doorknob had been thoroughly polished by the maids until it became a mirror. Before that door lay a lion hide mat, the soft fur had been carefully brushed and cleaned to the point it looked livelier than it was on the live animal.
The feint fresh smell of lavender filled the hallway as the torches illuminating it burned the essence set up above them. Not a single fly could be heard buzzing around, as the door opened. Behind it one maid, looking in her early twenties; sat on the ground, gently bowing her head.
