After leaving the guild, Alice and Liam headed back to the Iron Core's inn and had breakfast. He then left for the guards' barracks to speak with the commander. The whole place was drowning in chaos as everyone scrambled to fix what remained of the lord's mansion and its immediate surroundings. The flood caused by Merlin's magic had even left further parts of the city crippled and countless people thrown out of their houses.
The commander rushed to Liam the moment he saw him walking through the gate. "You've come, I was waiting." He smiled, "The new guards are out working, and so I've left some talented veterans for you to train, is that all right?"
