Liam turned back and threw the stone as fast as he could, it flew between the bushes and a pained cry came out. Melany pulled her butterfly blades and stood still, ready to attack whatever lungs out.
"No need to panic." Liam smiled, pulling his bowstring, "This one is quite dumb."
A deer with a single horn on its forehead jumped out of the bushes, running as fast as it could toward Liam with its horn pointing forward.
Iron-horn deer. Those monsters are classified as monstrosities, animals that have been mutated by the excess of mana. Those deer had grown horns with a lot of iron in them which resulted in a shade of rustic brown, all thanks to the iron in the forest.
Monstrosities are known to be more active and vicious than their animal counterpart, and the closest animals to a monstrosity without being ones are hippos and honey badgers.
