"It's midnight," announced Yiyi. "Let's rest for a while here to calm down and then we'll continue."
Liu Xinyu hummed in agreement without much resistance. Her eyes were trained on Yiyi's face. She still vividly remembered the elaborate and delicately made red wedding gown that Yiyi had worn in her illusion earlier. That wedding gown truly made her look like the red rose. Like a queen but it was hard to tell if the color of the gown was red or the blood had dyed it into that red color.
Feeling her eyes stinging, she looked away and took deep breaths. Why did it hurt so much to see her ghostie in pain? What kind of a connection did she even have with her? What really was tying them together?
"Why do you keep looking at me?" asked Yiyi in confusion. She had noticed Liu Xinyu's eyes on her but she was unable to understand the meaning behind that gaze. When did Liu Xinyu start looking at her so seriously and with such complexity? "Is there something on my face?"
