There was a brief pause as everyone turned to look, their eyes darting around the ballroom with anticipation swirling in their eyes.
But even after a while, no one came. Then it finally clicked inside his head. They must have bribed his guards one way or another as the guards only stood there unmoving. It was almost as if everything was invisible. An exasperated sigh left his lips.
"Fine, I will do it myself," he muttered under his breath, a distant look swimming in his dark brown eyes.
The two women looked at him with a puzzled look etched on their faces. Their hearts raced within their chests as panic started to settle in on them when they noticed the way his face darkened visibly.
