"I'm sorry about my mum," Caleb's apologetic voice rang in her ears. He slowly turned to look at her with a tiny frown etched onto his face, as though he was deep in thought. But his voice was muffled by the noise buzzing inside her head, she couldn't hear him despite how close he was standing next to her. Questions and thoughts were swirling inside her head.
Alexandra desperately needed to clear her mind and escape from reality for a while after whatever had just happened. She didn't care if it was only a few minutes or seconds even, she just wanted a taste of the sweet escape for a brief moment. Almost as if he were reading her mind, he immediately suggested something when he realised she wasn't uttering a single word.
"Wanna go take a walk and take your mind off things?" He asked this time, his deep voice reached her ears, breaking her out of her little reverie and she snapped her eyes to match his gaze within a split second.
