A soft sigh left Alexandra's parted lips when her eyes glanced over at the text that Caleb had just sent her. A pang of sadness and ache hit her in that instant and his harsh words from earlier resurfaced at the back of her mind, reminding her of the pain that she felt not too long ago. Her thumb hovered over the lock button on her phone as she contemplated just shoving her phone back into her pocket.
After what seemed like an eternity, that was exactly what she did. Locking the screen of her phone and ignoring his text, she put it back into her pocket and continued to walk ahead as fast as she could without even turning back around to look back at the smirk that had morphed itself onto Stephanie's face.
It didn't take long before she felt it buzzed inside her pocket again. Just like before, she ignored it yet again. But then, it buzzed even longer this time. A voice nagged at her to answer the call this time.
