We drank ourselves silly last night, celebrating at the Royal Bar until we could barely stand. The night was full of laughter and teasing—Talon could not stop making fun of me when I hopped on Lord Niko's back, urging him to carry me to our chambers. Silas, already too drunk to control himself, laughed hysterically the whole way. By the time we reached the bed, we all collapsed into a heap, the world spinning around us, and sleep claimed me before I even realized it.
The next morning, I stirred, feeling the warmth of the sunlight creeping into the room. I blinked, slowly becoming aware that I was alone. My mates were nowhere in sight. I leaned back against the headboard, rubbing my temples, trying to shake off the remnants of the night's drunken haze.
