MAXWELL'S POV
Emmet's eyes bore into mine, unwavering and full of resolve. "We're not going to live in Sith or Elisera," he stated firmly, his voice leaving no room for argument. "I've already made plans for a home to be built somewhere in between."
His words grated against my nerves, sparking an irritation deep inside me. I clenched my jaw, staring at him with rising annoyance. I understood why he didn't want to leave Elisera, just as I was adamantly rooted in Sith. But still, the thought of compromising so drastically set my teeth on edge. Yet, I swallowed my irritation and gave him a stiff nod of agreement.
"Fine," I muttered, turning sharply on my heel, ready to leave his house and cool off. I needed space, a moment to clear my head, away from his imposing presence.
