NIKO'S POV
The minute we arrived back in Sith Castle, I felt the need to have a word with old man Kieran. Hence, I left the chambers after having a brief discussion with my brother and mate and we agreed that I needed to call out Kieran and make good my threat. Hence I walked towards Duchess Lenora's jail cell as the guards bowed one by one as I made my way through the corridors.
The corridors of the castle seemed to stretch endlessly as I walked slowly, my footsteps echoing in the stillness, a rhythmic counterpoint to the heaviness of my thoughts. The weight of my responsibilities pressed down on me like an invisible shroud, and I realized that for the first time in months, I was tired.
My mind wandered through the complexities of the realm—the shifting alliances, the whispered conspiracies, and the ever-present threat of unrest. The weight of governance and the protection of my people felt like a mantle that was both honorable and exhausting.
