"Go with him tomorrow. He has something important to discuss with you. Just listen to him first," Allen urged.
Lilian hesitated. "What if he just wants to manipulate me again?"
Allen shook his head. "It's not wrong to hear someone out when they want to talk. But just remember, don't take everything to heart."
She sighed. "Maybe he just wants to apologize and ask me to take him back."
"Or," Allen added, "since you won't agree to be a surrogate for him and his wife, maybe he's hoping to persuade you to have a child with him instead."
Lilian frowned. "That's a possibility I don't want to entertain."
"Look, just go to the dinner," Allen said, firm in his stance. "But I want someone trailing you. I can't risk anything with someone as vindictive as he is."
"Fine, I'll go," she replied reluctantly. "But I'll give you feedback on how things unfold."
"That's better," Allen said, relieved.
